I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia the oldest of three kids. In high school, my mom came home and joked about a job opening in Anchorage, AK and that we were going to move. Though she was teasing at the time, all of us were actually really excited about the idea. So she applied, got the job, and a few months later we were on the road and moving up to Anchorage.
I finshed high school in Anchorage and then started college at the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2007. I will have lived in Alaska for 10 years this October and I have never regretted the move.
My husband and I try to get outdoors in the winter but admittedly revert to hibernation inside with its warm heat and cozy movie nights. During the summer, we love to camp, visit Seward and Homer, and walk around Anchorage's many parks.
I have a one year old son who never fails to make me smile. He is such a character and I look forward to watching him experience all Alaska has to offer as he grows up here.
