Engineering Experience:

United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)         Jan 2018 - Jan 2022

Buffalo, NY                                                                     Hydraulic Engineer

  • Developed hydrologic and hydraulic models to assess floodplain boundaries and inform development of floodplain and flood risk management projects.

  • Utilized GIS and associated tools and extensions to pre-process modeling data and to develop other work products such as floodplain maps.

  • Designed hydraulic aspects of dams, gates, spillways, weirs, levees, diversion channels, as well as ecosystem restoration features such as wetlands, streambank protection, channel grade controls, fishways, and in-stream habitat.

  • Effectively communicated design concepts to Project Delivery Team Members (PDT) and external partners through Computer-Aided Design and Graphics (CADD),and PowerPoint Presentations.
  • Worked closely with teammates and supervisor to optimize hydraulic design concepts; worked with project manager to capture effective meeting notes and explain hydraulic elements; conveyed designs to other teams: structural,
geotechnical, cost engineering, ect.; effectively consulted members outside of the District (i.e. USFWS Brett Towler).
  • Assisted in the development of engineering team project budgets for current projects.
