Communication 
Communication is of the utmost importance in any profession, especially engineering. I have had the privilege to have had over 4 summers of engineering experience, and what separated a smoothly running project from a rough project was the communication between entities and team members. As a group, we made sure to meet several times a week and organize as many meetings with our mechanical engineering cohorts as we could.
In addition, we meet with many professional entities to give us direction and facilitate productive conversation and planning. This made progress run uninterrupted for the most part and made sure we did not fall behind. Our success can definitely be attributed to our communication held throughout the project.
