Review Other Portfolios: Evaluation Exercises
Take a look at the Evaluation Exercises page in the portfolios of at least 2 of your classmates and leave comments.
You will be graded using the criteria listed under "Participation/Discussion Response Guidelines" in the syllabus (in the Grading Criteria section). Since this is the first time you will be graded using these criteria, I am including them here for your convenience.
"This course has a significant peer feedback and interaction component. The following criteria will be used to grade your responses to others’ posts (participation grade):
- Response/feedback post addresses at least one aspect of the assignment/original post that was done especially well, including an explanation of why it was well done/said.
- Response/feedback post addresses includes discussion of at least one aspect of the assignment that could be improved, or could have been done or thought of in a different way. Includes specific suggestions and an explanation of why the author might consider doing it the alternative way(s) suggested.
- Response/feedback post is long enough that it accomplishes 1 and 2 above. Note: It is unlikely that you will be able to accomplish this is in less than 150 words -- and it may take you many more than this (for reference, this Participation Guidelines section is 170 words long).
- Writing is easily understood, is in accordance with college level writing standards, and abides by our course respectful communication standards."
