Review Other Portfolios: Evaluation Exercises

Take a look at the Evaluation Exercises page in the portfolios of at least 2 of your classmates and leave comments.

You will be graded using the criteria listed under "Participation/Discussion Response Guidelines" in the syllabus (in the Grading Criteria section). Since this is the first time you will be graded using these criteria, I am including them here for your convenience.

"This course has a significant peer feedback and interaction component. The following criteria will be used to grade your responses to others’ posts (participation grade):

  1. Response/feedback post addresses at least one aspect of the assignment/original post that was done especially well, including an explanation of why it was well done/said.
  2. Response/feedback post addresses includes discussion of at least one aspect of the assignment that could be improved, or could have been done or thought of in a different way. Includes specific suggestions and an explanation of why the author might consider doing it the alternative way(s) suggested.
  3. Response/feedback post is long enough that it accomplishes 1 and 2 above. Note: It is unlikely that you will be able to accomplish this is in less than 150 words -- and it may take you many more than this (for reference, this Participation Guidelines section is 170 words long).
  4. Writing is easily understood, is in accordance with college level writing standards, and abides by our course respectful communication standards."
