In this position, I performed the following duties for the Glacier Brewhouse restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska:
Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas.
Provide guests with excellent customer service.
Assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that servers receive an appropriate number of seatings.
Exercise excellent time management by calculating and quoting wait times between seatings.
Speak with patrons to ensure satisfaction with food and service, to respond to complaints, or to make conversation.
Remain calm and productive under great deals of pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls.
Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly and customers' concerns are addressed.
Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
Receive and record patrons' dining reservations.
Operate cash registers to accept payments of cash, check, or credit cards.
Supervise and coordinate activities of dining room staff to ensure that patrons receive prompt and courteous service.
Assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints.
Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas and complete other general cleaning duties, such as mopping floors and emptying trash cans.
Stock shelves, and mark prices on shelves and items.
Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
Sort, count, and wrap currency and coins.
