UAA Postdoc Opportunity

  

The Duddleston Lab at the University of Alaska Anchorage is recruiting a postdoctoral scientist to study urea nitrogen salvage and the gut microbiota in arctic ground squirrels. Experience in microbiome analyses, stable isotope analysis and/or respirometry, as well as experience working with rodents would be a plus, although any combination of experience would be considered. The position is for 1.5 yr with the potential for 1 additional year. Interested people can contact Khrys Duddleston knduddleston@alaska.edu for more information about the project.

Biological Sciences Summer Book Club!

 

The goal of this bookclub is have an informal and fun opportunity for interested grad students, faculty and postdocs to get together during the summer, and to foster discussions of topics related science, inspired by the books we are reading.

 

Earlier this summer we read and discussed: Lab Girl

 by Hope Jahren and Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
