VisualAid (2013 – present) Editor-in-Chief, Founder
- VisualAid is an inspirational children’s magazine. The purpose of this free magazine is to inspire, motivate, educate, but most importantly expand the psychological barriers of what people, particularly little children, believe they are capable of achieving with their lives. VisualAid is currently in circulation in 20 children’s homes, eight countries, and read by over 20,000 children throughout the continent of Africa.

Position: Membership Committee 2014 - Present
About: The Alaska World Affairs Council is an educational nonprofit organization dedicated to stimulating interest in world affairs and inspiring its members to be involved in world events. My job is to assist in the further development of increasing members, particularly amongst the University of Alaska Anchorage student population.


Emerging Leaders Program
Position: Emerging Leader 2013 – 2014
Co-curricular program that develops and
enhances leadership skills and competencies for students through
self-assessment, learning, and practice. Every semester, I committed to over 25-30 hours of community service (with verification), attend retreats, and cohorts to enhance my leadership ability, so in turn, I could enhance student life on campus.


NAACP Youth Council
Position: President 2013 - Present
About: The NAACP Anchorage Youth Council (YC) is a nonprofit organization that strives to make a BIG difference within Anchorage. The Youth Council’s primary objective is to create a sense of value within our members. We do this by advancing their economical, educational, social, and political status by creating opportunities such as: scholarships, studying abroad, international service trips, and so much more!
Accolades: The Youth Council played a pivotal role in discussions with policy makers against permitting open carry on the UAA campus.
Had a peaceful rally/protest against police brutality and racial profiling/non indictments.

Position: Executive Committee Member 2013 - Present
The mission of the National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political,
educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all
persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.


Global Applications Program

explores global synergies in mitigating barriers to affordable,
cost-reliable, and secure energy for microgrid applications in
rural and remote locations.

About: In the fall of 2012, UAA student Max Bullock invited Xavier to start a fraternity with him along with the now deceased Mabil Duir. Without hesitation, Xavier said yes. Upon my return to UAA from studying abroad, the founding fathers included Ricky Castillo and Brandon Kelley, and together we built the TKE fraternity upon the three pillars of leadership, academics, and service.
Accolades: We have raised over $2,000 for Saint Jude’s Children Hospital


Chessed Alaska
Position: Board Member (Role) Business Strategy & Fundraising 2009 - Present
About: Chessed Alaska operates from the premise of a more in depth understanding of the Biblical Hebrew. Chessed’s classes teach students by examining ancient text written by Biblical Scholars throughout time. Chessed Alaska’s classes, workshops, and book club purpose is to expound upon a deeper level of education which give
students a richer understanding of the Biblical Hebrew texts to apply to their lives.
Accolades: Chessed has a new TV show that airs on KPLE-TV, with 1-2 million international viewers
